Saturn and its Relation to Building Career

Saturn and its Relation to Building Career

Planet Saturn is part of our solar system. It is one of the 9 planets. It is the 6th planet (position) from the sun. It falls after Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and the Jupiter (in that order from the Sun). Saturn has multiple rings around it. It is light golden-ish in color visually.

It is said to be ~1.4 billion kms from the sun. It is ~1.2 billion kms from the Earth. The distance varies from time-to-time in both their revolutions-orbits around the sun.

After Jupiter, it is the 2nd largest planet in the solar system. Its size is about ~115,000 kms in diameter.  Roughly equal to (between) 9 to 10 Earth size (Earth’s diameter= ~12,742 kms). [Courtesy internet source]. Despite its size, it is considered the lightest of all the planets. Basically it is made up of gases (mainly, hydrogen and helium), liquids etc, but a deep solid center core. It is said to have different sized around 50 moons of its own.

Like the Earth takes 365 ¼ days (1 year) for one complete revolution around the sun, Saturn takes one complete revolution around the sun in about ~29.45 years. As it is a relatively slow moving planet with a larger orbit and distance from the sun, it takes ~29.5 years to go through all the 12 horoscopic zodiac signs. Therefore, it resides ~2.5 years in each sign (currently in Sagittarius).

The Saturn is slower in speed as compared to the Earth on its path around the sun. Saturn is said to travel at a speed roughly 34,821 km/h and Earth around 107,826 km/h. (Please reference other sources as well)

A NASA spacecraft called Cassini ended its exploration-voyage to the Saturn on the 15th of September 2017; after ~20 years. It took off from Earth on the 15th of October 1997, from a space launch complex in the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL, USA.

In human terms, career is amongst the top most important aspects and priority in most of our lives, in a lifetime. Other being like health, wealth, family, love, married life, parents, child/children, relationships, mental peace, spirituality-death and so forth. However, these are all interlinked and in a sense interdependent. If ones’ career is not good, it affects the other (above and more) aspects, directly or indirectly; though each aspect is a unit-entity in itself.

In Astrology, Saturn is the ruling planet of the Capricorn Rashi (zodiac horoscope). In the ancient times, Saturn is said to be the ruler of Aquarius. Saturn’s symbol is the Saturn Sickle. Sickle is a tool used in farming mainly to cut corn, grass, agricultural, garden work etc. It is the planet that is related to Karma. A positive positioning of Saturn in one’s Janam Kundali (Natal/birth Chart) reflects favorability at work/in career. However, it is a demanding planet and can make one work hard; and results-rewards-fruits are assured. If Saturn is weak in a native’s Janam Kundli (birth chart) then one needs to do certain cures, remedies and ‘Upay’ to make it favorable or do less harm-damage-hindrance.

Saturn is called ‘Shani’ in Vedic Astrology and in Hindi/Sanskrit. Saturn is currently in the Sagittarius zodiac sign (as stated above). The next transit of Saturn will be on the 20th of January 2020. It will go into the Capricorn (Makar) sign.  Saturn rules mainly the 10th house (of the 12 houses in a horoscope). Saturn rules Capricorn (as indicated above). Saturn denotes Karma, sense of work-duty, influence on attitude, responsibility, urge to achieve, success drive, personal effort etc.

Depending on the positioning of Saturn in your Janam Kundali, can one determine the career-work-job-business status. Firstly, your Janam Kundli needs to be determined based on your date-time-place of birth. Secondly, accurate interpretation of your Janam Kundli is required, to check Saturn’s malefic-benefic effect. Third comes the cures, remedies and ‘Upays’.
